So lets starts start with the tutorial. Make sure you have a .png image with background removed as above.Create a new PSD file and set suitable parameters as shown.Right-Click on the original image layer, select 'Duplicate Layer'Select the PSD file name you have just created and click on OKDrag the image to a suitable position. Select the Arrow tool (first tool to the left) to dragPress Ctrl T for free transform(or Go to Edit->Free Transform) to scale the imageAfter satisfied scaling, press the tick on upper right corneryou can renane your original image for easy reference. Double click on the name of layer in the layer's section.and then type and press EnterPress Ctrl= to zoom in and Ctrl- to zoom out.Ignore all these steps. Sorry about that. Correct steps start from 1:24 ......Right Click on the fullbody image and select 'Duplicat layer' and press OKSelect the Polygonal Lasso Tool.Start making rough closed selection of a body part. Lets start from the headRight Click on the selection and select 'Layer Via Copy'A new layer containing the head part is created above the operated layerPress Ctrl T for free transform. The head will be selected in a frame. Drag the ends of the frame to transform it to the left.Change the order of layers so as to bring the head layer behind the fullbody layerSelect a fullbody which is behind head layer(you can duplicate the fullbody layer if required)Press Ctrl T for free transform. Transform to the left deliberatelyClick the tick when you feel transform is ready.Do some amount of correction to have a flow in the colors while we do dispersion. Select the part and duplicate it and transform itNote that it does not need to have precise correction.Change layer orders accordingly. But make sure the actual untouched fullbody layer must be at topSome more modifications and corrections...!!!You can merge similar modification layer. Eg: I have merged those 3 layers of head to ease its refereneTo merge layers, Select the layers and click 'Merge Layers'Go to Filter->Blur->Gaussian BlurBlur the head layer. We do this to reduce the details. (Eg: hair)Have some amount of blur as shown and press OK.Remove excess part as shown using Rubber toolNow merge the blurred head layer and transformed fullbody layer.Do not merge the untouched fullbody layerAdd a layer mask to the merged layer.Select Paint Brush layer.Select the foreground color as black and press OKNow click on the screen. The paint bucket tool will put black on the mask layer. Hence the layer contents will masked (hidden/disappear)IMPORTANT: Black on mask hides, White on mask reveals.temporarily disable all layers except the last background layer.Add a new layer.Select the Rectangular Marquee ToolHold Shift key and make a square.Select Paint Bucket tool and paint the selected square blackGo to Edit->Define Brush Preset. Now we have converted that to a brush which we will use in dispersionNow delete the square layer as we don't need it now.Now turn on the visibility of all layers.Select the brush tool. Then in the brush preset, navigate and select our brush.Go to brush preset settings and manipulate values as I do.Increase spacingIncease Size JitterIncrease Minimum Diameter a bitIncrease Angle JitterIncrease Scattering values and countSelect The Mask Layer. Not that do not select the corresponding layer. But Select The Mask LayerHave foreground color as white.Press [ to decrease brush size, Press ] to increase brush sizeLooks like we have particles very close to each otherhence Undo! Also make sure the opacity is 100%Again open Brush preset setting. In Scattering, have less value of count.Note to select the Mask layer.Decreasing the count furthur moreNow keep clicking multiple times just as shown.Remember that we want more dense particles near the body and less dense particles as we move away.Increase the count a bit so as to get dense particlesThat looks cool. But wait, we have not completed. Now select the untouched fullbody layer and add a layer maskMake the foreground color as black. Now using the same brush tool and same brush setting, lets start clicking on the corner of body as shown.look out for density needed. Change count values accordingly.Try to make it look as real as possible by using various brush size and count values.Zoom in and do some detailingIf you are quite familiar with masks, then you can remove some unwanted pixels. Now we have completed the tutorial.Try out with your own pics.Hope you enjoyed the tutorial.Check out the description for SMOKE DISPERSION tutorialSubscribe for more, appreciate with a like and feedback with a comment.
